Suicide by the numbers

The prevalence and effect of suicide in our society is confirmed by the statistics. Recognizing how many people are effected every day by suicide, either directly or indirectly, is important to understanding the issue as a whole and how we can work to overcome it.  Mental illness prevention and education also plays a role in understanding suicide, as 46% of people who die by suicide have a diagnosable mental health condition (NAMI).
